About The Role

The position reports into Group Risk management, the individual will be responsible for coordinating the second line risk and control activity to support the Senior Management Team to ensure effective maintenance and oversight of a robust system and control environment.

The individual will need to proactively liaise with management and colleagues to ensure all activities are completed, recorded, and effectively communicated. They will be required to engage with professional services and produce reporting as part of the Groups’ broader oversight activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Business Partnering

  • Provide detailed updates to enable Senior Management to be fully engaged in overseeing risk performance.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff in the development and review of operational documents, processes, and procedures to ensure effective compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate timely completion of Risk and Control self-assessments in accordance with the Groups’ Risk Management Framework
  • Engage with colleagues at all levels to ensure continuous review and testing of risks across the brokerage.
  • Oversee and maintain records held by Risk and Compliance (such as the Gifts and Hospitality register).
  • Manage incident records and support business areas in identifying and addressing incident root causes.
  • Assist Operations Management in providing and preparing reports and management information on a regular basis for management and Governance committees.
  • Monitor service desk activities to provide further structured advice and guidance.

    Policy & Training
  • Support management and the wider team to maintain up to date and adequate documentation to evidence process and procedure.
  • Support Management with the ongoing review, development and embedding of the firm’s Risk & Compliance policies, including the communication and training
  • Promote a culture of risk awareness across the team by supporting the understanding of risk and compliance.

Development

  • Prioritise and manage own workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Identify gaps in specific knowledge areas and seek out guidance or advice from colleagues or Line Management as appropriate.
  • Support personal and team member development through the team’s regular peer reviews and calibration sessions.
  • Key Experience Required:
  • Working knowledge of the applicable regulatory expectations in the motor finance sector.
