As part of our continued growth and recent restructure within the Risk and Compliance function, we are excited to introduce a new position within the department. This role presents an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual to play a key part in strengthening our risk management and compliance capabilities, while gaining valuable experience within a dynamic and fast-paced financial services environment.
The role holder will provide essential support to the Risk and Compliance team and assist operational areas across the CarFinance247 business through the effective administration of the Risk and Compliance Service Desk.
This is a pivotal position within the department, requiring a solid understanding of basic Financial Crime risks and controls, as well as a working knowledge of FCA Financial Promotions rules and requirements as they apply to Consumer Finance.
Full training will be provided on internal processes to ensure the successful candidate is fully equipped to support the business. This opportunity will particularly suit an individual with aspirations to develop a career in Risk and Compliance, offering clear scope for growth and professional development. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role holder must be able to convey technical and regulatory requirements clearly and concisely to a range of stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Desk Administration
- Ensuring the service desk is monitored continuously and all tickets raised are provided with a first response within the agreed service level agreements.
- Maintain full understanding of the Financial Promotions rules as they apply to CarFinance247 and apply them in a proportionate manner consistent with the agree regulatory requirements document.
- Undertake monthly review of all tickets and provide insight and MI to Risk and Compliance management with any recommendation to improve process or identify gaps in business understanding.
- Provide ad-hoc support as required to Risk and Compliance management in giving practical advice or technical advice around management and performance of risks.
- Undertake proportionate reviews of internal suspicious activity reports submitted to service desk to make recommendations to the business as to the most appropriate course of action.
- Always ensure a proportionate and balanced approach to understand the needs of the business in protecting itself from risk.
Policy & Training
- Undertake a regular (at least annual) review of all Risk and Compliance owned policy documents including but not limited to Financial Crime, Data Protection, Vulnerable customers, etc.
- Provide constructive feedback and input into the firms e-learning modules to ensure they remain relevant and fit for purpose.
- Promote a culture of risk awareness across the team by supporting the understanding of risk and compliance.
Development
- Prioritise and manage own workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Identify gaps in specific knowledge areas and seek out guidance or advice from colleagues or Line Management as appropriate.
